WEIRD MESSAGES ON MY COMPUTER

Hi. I have a problem. When I go on the net, and access certain things on web sites, such as newspaper articles, my computer says there's been an internal error detected, the window I'm using will be closed, and it's recommended I save my work and restart the computer. Then, it completely freezes, stops, or, just suddenly takes me back to the task bar menu, and I'm disconnected from the net altogether. Does anyone know what is causing this, and what I can do? I've done everything I know to try and solve this problem. Help would certainly be appreciated.

You might try running your antivirus program. Also if you have a program that finds and removes spy ware you might want to run that as well.

one othe rthing to do, is to reboot your modem. switch off/unplug the pc from the mains, after powering down of course, then leave it for a bit. switch it back on to clear the modem. other than that, perhaps uninstalling and reinstalling either your isp software, or modem drivers could help. hth, simon

What are the drivers, and could I just turn off my surge protector, wait a few minutes, and turn it back on. That would turn the power off on my motem and my cable thing. (I don't know much about this stuff). Thanks for your advice. (smile) Is the motem what I'm hooked up to on the net, or is that the computer itself? (told you I didn't know much about this stuff). I'm still learning.

What antivirus and antispyware software are you using, and do you keep them updated?

What you can try is reload your drivers. Then reset your modem and restart.
If that does not work that means your operating system is to blame.
